In the halls of the Sea Classroom Museum, you will discover an impressive variety of marine species that inhabit the coast of Roquetas, from colorful fish like Sargo to mysterious invertebrates like anemones. The museum pays special attention to Posidonia Oceanica, a marine plant that forms extensive underwater meadows that constitute true underwater forests. The Posidonia Meadow of Roquetas de Mar is a treasure, as it is one of the few Posidonia reefs preserved in the Mediterranean.<\/p>\n

The museum also pays well-deserved homage to the town’s deeply rooted fishing tradition, showcasing traditional fishing techniques, the gear used over time, and how this vital activity for the local economy has evolved.<\/p>\n
